LANGHAM LOVE

LANGHAM-36On my last visit to the US, I had the pleasure of spending my first few nights at the wonderful Langham Huntington Hotel in idyllic Pasadena. This property won my heart over. From the lobby, to the suite that I stayed in, the walkways to the spa - The Langham Huntington took me on a journey far away from the noise of the Los Angeles I used to know.

My visit on this trip was a little different. This time, I had the pleasure of co-hosting an afternoon tea with the awesome crew at The Langham Huntington. This event came one week after Lilit Caradanian and I hosted our first Sweet Life event, and was curated by the hotel to help us continue the conversation. In an exciting partnership with Wedgwood, The Langham Huntington Pasadena took us back to the roots of the traditional afternoon tea service, being the first hotel in the world to formally introduce what has now become a timeless indulgence synonymous with luxury and elegance. Our guests were among the first to experience the Afternoon Tea with Wedgwood and the feedback was unanimous - stunning, delicious, and something out of a sweet, sweet dream!

My favourite of the sweet delights was definitely the warm scones with jam and fresh cream. To keep things traditional, I opted for the English tea. Lilit and I were joined by some of LA's finest musicians, editors, bloggers, and writers. There were a few moments where I felt like I had to step back, and pinch myself. Never had I imagined that I would have the opportunity to get to circle a room full of entrepreneurial go-getters who know how to build and live the life they've always dreamed of.

Just in case we weren't feeling spoilt enough, we were later treated to bubbly and an lovely experience at the Chuan Spa - a tranquil oasis of wellbeing located on site at The Langham. When we were invited to make our way over to the spa, we stepped out into the central courtyard of the hotel...we were not expecting the gentle shower of delicate pear blossom petals floating in the atmosphere, down to the ground beneath us. It felt like something out of a dream; and mother nature could not have timed it better! This place tells a story, and inspires me to loose myself in the clouds for a while.

On my last visit, the gardens somehow beckoned me to take a seat and think about all the places I've been and the places I want to go, both physically and emotionally. In the time between my first visit to The Langham and this visit, I cannot fathom how many things have changed in my life. In four short months, Lilit and I saw a concept go from paper to reality. A lunch meeting with Lilit on the grounds of this hotel turned into a partnership that has completely changed the way I look at my work, and I'm so blessed to be living what I expected would take years to achieve.

So I guess now would be the perfect time to share that we have already locked in our official venue and lifestyle sponsor for the next Whats Your Sweet Life event. You guessed it - the next Los Angeles gathering will take place at The Langham Huntington Pasadena in September 2015. With heartfelt thanks to the The Langham Huntington, Lilit and I are getting to work on hosting the next big night that fosters networking opportunities for bloggers and young entrepreneurs. This event is all about leaving your cares at the door, shedding some skin and getting to know likeminded creatives who are working hard to live that sweet life.

Keep your eyes peeled and check back for more information on how you can get involved with the movement. #whatsyoursweetlife
